A fast food meal at McDonald’s is typically more expensive than a McDonald’s meal at Burger King or Burger King Express.
But the company said that for a few months in the summer of 2019, it decided to cut prices to make healthier options available.
“McDonald’s is committed to providing customers with choices that are just as nutritious and satisfying as McDonald’s classic and healthy offerings,” McDonald’s spokeswoman Stephanie Pincus said in a statement.
“At the same time, we are committed to creating healthy options that meet their health needs and goals.”
McDonald’s also said it was working on reducing the amount of meat used in its burgers, including chicken, turkey, bacon, beef and pork.
The company’s healthy option menu is now available at about 20 McDonald’s locations, including outlets in Chicago, New York and Los Angeles.
