McDonalds said Tuesday it will start selling its own buns in China next month, following an announcement earlier this month from McDonald’s parent company McDonald’s China Holding Group that it will begin selling buns made in China.
In a statement, McDonald’s said it would begin selling the new products at its restaurants, including the KFC restaurant chain.
The new buns will be available in China from April 10, McDonald said.
Chinese customers will also be able to purchase McDonald’s buns online at the same time as they do now, the company said.
McDonald’s already offers its own breads and other baked goods in the U.S. and has opened a U.K. branch in the city of Birmingham.
China has more than 2 billion people and more than 4.5 billion people.
McDonalds is the world’s largest hamburger company.
